Message from the Founder

Hello and welcome to Gulf Coast IT Training!
My name is Timothy Euler, and I am thrilled to have you here. I’ve been in the IT training industry since the early days of Windows NT 4.0, and I’ve walked the very path many of you are just beginning. Whether you're new to the field or a seasoned pro looking to upskill, you're in the right place.

My journey: From Student to Senior Instructor

My IT journey began in 1996, transitioning from a career in the restaurant industry. Inspired by my father’s work at IBM, I pursued a new direction through a 14-day NT 4.0 Boot Camp at ACTT (Advanced Computer Technology Training). With daily 12-hour classes, weekend sessions, and an exam every two days, I completed 7 exams and earned my MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer).

A Career Change That Stuck

What started as a career change quickly became a lifelong mission. During my own training, I naturally supported fellow students, which caught the attention of my instructor, Neil. Shortly after graduating, ACTT offered me a position as a technical trainer—even though public speaking terrified me at the time. I accepted the challenge, shadowed instructors for a month, and then launched my career with my own NT 4.0 Boot Camp…900 miles away in Chicago.
For three years, I flew from Baltimore to Midway every week to teach.

Building Experience Across the Industry

Over the years, I taught and designed courses at several training centers:

• Ameritrain, where I taught Microsoft and Cisco technologies for 5 years.
• Global Knowledge, where I served as a Senior Master Instructor and Courseware Designer for 16 years.
• UMBC Training, where I taught full-time for 6 years before continuing as a contractor.

From working with small regional training centers to global industry leaders, I’ve experienced every corner of IT education—its successes, its failures, and everything in between.
